Jim & Charlotte Loving
Jim Loving, a singer who has recorded more than 40 albums, co-founded Sunday Nights LIVE with his wife Charlotte to bring gospel music ministry to Port Charlotte, Florida.
Loving, who lives in North Port, Florida, has had a varied career as a soloist and as an educator. He began singing with a trio, The Goodtime Singers, which was based in Evansville, Ind., and appeared in various venues with The Oak Ridge Boys, The Cathedral Quartet, The Blackwood Brothers, The Happy Goodman Family, The Stamps Quartet, The Speer Family, and others.
After singing with the trio for 11 years, Loving began working as a soloist and recorded 15 albums before forming another trio, Tribute.
Between stints with the two groups and between coast-to-coast tours as a soloist, Loving earned a doctorate and served at Northwestern College in Roseville, Minn., North Central University, Minneapolis, Belhaven College, Memphis, Tenn., and at the University of Phoenix Minneapolis campus. He also taught for FGCU in Ft. Myers, Fla.
While at North Central University, Loving wrote and implemented new academic majors in broadcasting, journalism, theatre, and mass communications. He also oversaw the construction of a campus television and radio station.
Loving and his wife, Charlotte, have one son, Philip, who lives in Indianapolis.
His latest recordings are titled "Someone Who Cares," an album of hymns and favorites, and "Silent Night," a Christmas record. Both were recorded at StarSound Studio in Cape Coral, Fla.
